Belmont Mansion Fundraiser

We love a good cause and so it was a no-brainer for us to jump on board with a fundraiser run by one of our lovely clients.

This weekend, a benefit event – ‘Dueling Cocktails’ – will be held in Tennessee in add of the historic Belmont Mansion.

The Belmont Mansion is the largest house museum in Tennessee and one of the few nineteenth century homes whose history revolves around the life of a woman, Adelicia Hayes Franklin Acklen Cheatham.

The Mansion was completed in 1853 and it played a major role in the Civil War locally by housing many preparations for the Battle of Nashville in 1864.  Today, the Mansion, water tower, aviary and gazebos are still standing and it is listed as one of Nashville’s top twenty tourist attractions.

However, there is much need for continued restoration.

Efforts to restore and operate the mansion are completely administered by the non-profit Belmont Mansion Association and are funded in large part by community donations.

So where does SHOW PONY Millinery figure in all of this?

We were so overwhelmed by the support of Nashville residents who purchased our designs in the lead-up to the 2016 Triple Crown that we have donated one of our headpieces to the event’s fundraiser auction.

The winner of the auction can select between either one of our popular INDIA or LUCIA styles in colours of their choice – and we will ship it to (nearly) anywhere in the world.

The great news is that even if you can’t make the event, you can still help support the Belmont Mansion by placing a bid for our fascinator online (As at 24 August: Sorry! Bidding has now closed)

Tickets to Dueling Cocktails are US$125 with all proceeds going to the Belmont Mansion Association to assist with their current restoration goal. Buy yours here.

And finally, best of luck to the team behind the fundraiser – we hope you reach your goal of US$30,000!
