HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING?
We offer FREE courier shipping worldwide on all orders over NZ$150 (about $95US).


WHO IS YOUR SHIPPING PROVIDER?
We use New Zealand Post for all our post & courier requirements.

WHAT ARE YOUR HAT DISPATCH TIMES?
It usually takes us 1-5 working days to get a hat or fascinator dressed up & ready for a trip to the post office.

If you’re on shopping for hats on our Etsy store, check the “Ready To Ship” timing (under the “Shipping & Policies” tab by your chosen hat or fascinator) which is a guide as to how long it should take us to dispatch that particular headpiece.

Sometimes it can take us a little longer to get our hats & fascinators dispatched. That’s generally because we may be busy working through a queue of orders or something has come up in our day-to-day life!


HOW LONG DO HATS & FASCINATORS TAKE TO SHIP?
New Zealand Post provides the below timings as a guide:

Domestic orders (New Zealand only

  • Couriers usually have a ‘next working day’* delivery target (NOT guarantee) to major towns & cities
  • This timing doesn’t include our dispatch times (as above)
  • Signature upon delivery may be required – if you aren’t there to sign for it, you may need to arrange re-delivery
  • We offer rural and Saturday delivery courier options (may incur an additional fee)

International Orders:

  • Hats & fascinators are sent via NZ Post’s International Courier service
  • This has a delivery target (NOT guarantee) of 2-7 working days* depending on the destination
  • This timing doesn’t include our dispatch times (as above)
  • This service is tracked
  • Signature upon delivery is required – if you aren’t there to sign for it, you may need to arrange re-delivery
  • Delivery to post boxes is available for some destinations (check to see if yours is included on New Zealand Post’s website)

Upon request – International Express Courier:

  • This has a delivery target (NOT guarantee) of 1-5 working days* depending on the destination – this timing doesn’t include our dispatch times

  • Shipping is tracked
  •  This is a door-to-door service (no post boxes)
  • A signature upon delivery is required
  • NZ Post require a destination phone number for this method
  • If you’re short of time or want your fascinator to fly the shipping world’s ‘first class ticket’ equivalent, this is the service for you
  • Please contact us for a quote to have your chosen headpiece shipped via International Express Courier

* When counting ‘working days’, remember that New Zealand Post often count the day in which a hat is dropped into their post shops as day ‘zero’ (so you may need to include another working day into your calculations for delivery times).

If you need a fascinator or hat urgently, feel free to contact us. It may be that we can bump you up the waiting list a little (a “rush order” charge may apply).

Please also be in touch if you require a headpiece for an upcoming date or event and you’re unsure whether it may make it to you in time – we can’t give you a guarantee of delivery time, but we can give you our best opinion.


WHAT IF MY HAT OR FASCINATOR ARRIVES LATE, GETS LOST OR IS DAMAGED?

MAY 2020 UPDATE: Please note that due to the impact of Covid-19 worldwide, some shipping providers are experiencing delays in their service and as a result, your hat may arrive later than the estimated shipping times.

While we package our hats & fascinators with the utmost care, ship them in New Zealand Post-supplied boxes and will work through the night to make a dispatch deadline if need be, once they have left our studio and are in the hands of New Zealand Post, they are no longer our responsibility or liability.

In the event your hat or fascinator is deemed by you to be ‘late’, lost or damaged, it is up to you to take this up with New Zealand Post or their service partners in your destination country.  New Zealand Post do have a compensation service available.

We’ll certainly do our best to help things out from our end though!

Visit New Zealand Post’s tracking page and enter your tracking number in the box on the left-hand side of the page.  If the status hasn’t been updated for some time, contact New Zealand Post (details above) and provide them with your tracking number – sometimes they can provide better information over the phone.


HOW DO YOU PACKAGE YOUR HATS & FASCINATORS?
We try to minimise our footprint by using sustainable or recycled packaging materials where possible.

We aren’t perfect, but we’re getting there!

As a starter, we wrap our hats & fascinators in Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, acid-free tissue paper that has been printed with soy-based ink (where stocks allow).  Wherever possible, we then pack the rest of the hat box with tissue paper.

They aren’t pretty, but it’s the hats inside that count, right?

We ship about 95% of our hats & fascinators in NZ Post’s boxes (as pictured). These boxes are made from recycled content and comprised of FSC certified materials and water-based inks. They are 100% recyclable. Sometimes we may need to use another brand of box, but it will be cardboard and therefore re-usable or recyclable.

And the finishing touch? Our custom SHOW PONY Millinery stickers are printed on FSC certified, acid-free paper that has been printed with soy-based ink.
